Although our name, Glasgow University Canoe Club, eludes to the idea of giant green Canadian canoes on flat water, we are in fact a KAYAK CLUB!! We spend many of weekends exploring rivers across Scotland, whether you're a newbie interested in an adrenaline filled, adventurous activity or a paddling pro, we offer one of the best sports in world to all kinds of students!
Come along to our training session every Thursday evening between 7.30 and 10.30pm! Our coaches will be more than happy to help you out from improving strokes to a cheeky bit of freestyle! Not to mention out dedication to POLO! We are proud to be the current reigning Women's Scottish Universities Canoe Polo Champions!
Some of our most renowned trips including North East Weekend Freshers trip, Machrihanish Surf Weekend, SUS polo tournament weekend both intermediate and advanced weekends, as well as ALPS trips every summer!
We are a proud social club here at GUCC, if you're for some boating alongside some phenomenal banter we are the club for you! Our incredible socials include scavenger hunt, boys vs girls, Wallaby island, film and game nights just to name a handfull!
Sponsored by BANK STREET BAR every Thursday the club heads along for some chat and free pizza following training and we are more than sure you'll want to get down on the dancefloor in either HIVE or VIPER afterwards!
